Melanie Barnes is a consultant family law solicitor and practices exclusively in family law. She is able to offer legal advice and representation on all issues arising from divorce, dissolution and relationship breakdown, in particular, those that involve child maintenance or cases with an international aspect.
Melanie regularly advises on issues involving cross-border maintenance claims and is the author of International Child Maintenance and Family Obligations and numerous articles in this area of law. As a qualified advocate, Melanie represented her client in MS v PS  EWHC 88, a case that has been referred to the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg. Her experience includes jurisdictional disputes, cross-border divorce, complex financial cases, proceedings involving children, nuptial agreements, and enforcement of spouse and child maintenance claims.
