Christmas celebrations began early in Ponteland as the boss of Major Family Law hosted a sophisticated Ladies Night at Fratelli Ristoranté, Ponteland. The sparkling event, held to thank friends of Major Family Law for their continuing support and to celebrate the Firm’s “Top Tier” ranking in the Legal 500, was one of the most coveted invites of the season and certainly lived up to all expectations. The exclusive evening was a great opportunity to raise awareness and funds for local charity, The People’s Kitchen, which is run entirely by volunteers and helps the homeless and needy in the area. Festive retail therapy was provided by Green Tree Treasures, Pure Candles, Phoenix cards and Neal’ Yards Remedies who all generously donated raffle prizes. Prizes were also contributed by Katherines Florists, Tentspitch, Katharine Lowthian, Cake Poppins and other local businesses, The New Rendezvous, Panache Fashions, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s.
Once again, students from Central Newcastle High School, Joanne’s alma mater and who certainly, “major look!” were on hand to serve drinks and delicious canapés lovingly prepared to perfection by Fabrizio and his staff. Guests were treated to their very own bejewelled ”cup cake or cake pop” from Kate Emmett aka Cake Poppins of Jesmond, also a former Central girl! Kate also produced the “piece de resistance”, a magnificent cake in Major Family Law colours which together with all the proceeds of the evening, totalling £700 were presented to the People’s Kitchen. Joanne gave a vote of thanks at the end of a glorious evening and in doing so reminded us all of the importance of giving something back.
