North East niche family law practice, Major Family Law, is delighted to welcome Lucinda Connell to the team from 22nd July 2013.
Lucinda qualified as a solicitor in 2000 and has specialised as a family law practitioner since qualifying. She has been an approved member of the Law Society’s Children Panel since 2005, is a member of the Association of Lawyers for Children, and is a trained collaborative lawyer and a member of Resolution. She joins Major Family Law from city centre firm, Beecham Peacock.
Listed in the Legal 500 as a Top Tier firm, Major Family Law, based in Ponteland, has grown in size and reputation in just four years, from a sole practitioner operation to a nationally respected and recognised specialist legal practice with 4 highly regarded solicitors and a reputation for being forward thinking.
Business owner and founder, Joanne Major, has recently been shortlisted as just one of four lawyers nationally who are nominated for the title Innovative Family Lawyer of the Year Award, which will be announced at the annual Family Law Awards in London in October.
Having previously been head of the family law department of a large city centre law firm, Joanne set up Major Family Law quite literally from her kitchen table. Very much a team player, Joanne readily acknowledges that the success of the practice lies in the hard work and dedication of her team as a whole, and she is delighted to add Lucinda to that team as a senior associate.
Joanne says of Lucinda, “she has extensive experience in all aspects of divorce and relationship breakdown. She is an accomplished advocate and a skilled negotiator. With outstanding technical knowledge, she also commands an enviable rapport with clients, making her a vital addition to the Major Family Law team”.
Lucinda notes that at a time when family law and the legal profession as a whole is facing a challenging and uncertain future, it is reassuring to note that trusted, expert counsel can still be made available to those in need.
“I am very much looking forward to joining Major Family Law from next week. To be part of such a vibrant and proactive team, and one that is firmly committed to its local and wider community, is very exciting”.
